An anesthesia doctor (anesthesiologist) is a specialized physician responsible for patient safety and pain management before, during, and after surgical procedures. Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities and Duties

  • Preoperative Evaluation: Review medical history, conduct physical exams, and analyze lab results to create a tailored anesthetic plan.
  • Anesthesia Administration: Administer and manage general, regional, or sedation anesthesia to keep patients comfortable and pain-free.
  • Intraoperative Monitoring: Continuously monitor vital signs—heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels—and adjust anesthesia levels to maintain stability.
  • Airway Management: Perform intubation, ventilation, and manage breathing throughout the procedure.
  • Emergency Response: Handle complications, adverse reactions, and emergency resuscitation.
  • Postoperative Care: Manage pain, manage recovery from anesthesia, and ensure safe transition to the recovery room.
Skill Required

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Medical Degree (MD or DO) followed by 4 years of residency in anesthesiology.
  • Skills: High-level expertise in pharmacology, physiology, and anatomy, alongside strong critical thinking, quick decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with surgeons, nurses, and other specialists
